The first Mirror Parties release in 6 years 'Art Music' is a collection of dystopian funk songs in the tradition of Gustav Mahler.
Drawing inspiration from Victor Nubla's Objective Composition Method, Mirror Parties spent the first part of 2020 relentlessly recording shortwave signals from around the world. Highlights from these recordings were turned into loops which formed the basis for the majority of the songs. The only exception to this approach is found in the opener 'Traipse' which contains a sample of a George Gershwin composition taken from a scratchy cd.

Equipment used: Alesis Sr-16, Casio Sk-1, Fender Jaguar, Westone Bass, Roland Juno Di, Casio Cz-10, Roland Sp 404a, Graetz Radio, Aalto, Max/MSP.
